I’m getting tired of bromances being celebrated. I don’t care about your sausage fest. We womenfolk have stupid ass terms like frenemies. I don’t know that many people in real life who are friends with people they don’t like. Why is this such a big thing in the media. Why?
I don’t get why two people with penises (b/c this is always a cis thing) being friends is more important than anything else.
If two guys stop becoming friends you better believe it was a no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing woman who broke them up, even if it isn’t. We can’t have any Jezebels trying to lure these men away from each other with our ~vaginas.
I’ve written about slash fic before and the fact that people think it’s necessary to insult the women the men previously dated makes me sick. You can date a woman then date a man and still have respect for both. It’s not an either or situation. Then a lot of the times it’s women writing this. What??????
Male friendships are placed above all no matter how horrible they are. No matter how dysfunctional it is. Bros before hoes always. I don’t care anymore. It’s cool that males can be friends. It’s cool that anybody can be friends, but this hyper-awareness on bromances insinuates that female friendships aren’t worth acknowledging, and they aren’t great, and aren’t epic and that is a lie. Yet there’s plenty of instances where we’re constantly being told that women are catty and bitches and there’s almost nothing to counteract that.
Misogyny is great.
